The Story

Curry ketchup is believed to have originated in Germany in the 1950s. It is said to have been invented by a German woman named Herta Heuwer, who was inspired by the flavors of British curry powder and combined it with ketchup to create a new condiment. Heuwer reportedly began selling her creation from a street cart in Berlin, and it quickly gained popularity among locals. Over time, the popularity of curry ketchup spread beyond Germany, and it is now a beloved condiment throughout Europe and beyond. Today, curry ketchup can be found in a variety of forms and flavors, but the original recipe remains a popular choice for those who love the unique combination of sweet ketchup and spicy curry flavors.
