This is a great recipe for Brazilian-style skirt steak on skewers. Churrasco is a very popular food in South America and Spain and is the traditional Brazilian way to barbecue.

Barbecue sauce is undoubtedly the most popular sauce to accompany meats that, as its name suggests, are made by roasting. My homemade barbecue sauce recipe is very easy and quick to prepare , and the result is exquisite.

Ingredients
Adjust Quanities

½ tbsp (1.5 Teaspoons) freshly ground black pepper
½ tbsp (1.5 Teaspoons) garlic powder
½ tbsp (1.5 Teaspoons) sweet paprika
1 tbsp (3 Teaspoons) dried thyme
1 tbsp (3 Teaspoons) dried rosemary
1 tbsp (3 Teaspoons) dried oregano
1 tbsp (3 Teaspoons) old-fashioned or grain mustard
1 tbsp (3 Teaspoons) honey
½ tbsp (1.5 Teaspoons) salt
1 tbsp (3 Teaspoons) oil
1 tbsp (3 Teaspoons) water

Method

  1. Put all the marinade ingredients in a bowl and mix them with a spoon.
  2. Place the steaks on a large plate and brush them on both sides with the marinade.
  3. Let them marinate at room temperature for 1-2 hours or if you prefer to leave them for more hours or even overnight.
  4. Preheat your grill (or you can bake them in the oven at 200 degrees C.)
  5. Grill on high heat and baste regularly.
