Steak and Chops Spice

In South Africa we all know Robertsons Streak and Chops Spice. It's a wonderful spice mix that has become a mainstay for almost every braai enthusiast. The problem is the unhealthy stuff they put in there such as artificial flavoring and stabilisers. I decided to make a more healthy version and after many trials I have come up with a perfect substitute. Give it a try at your next braai!

Method

Mix everything together in a spice blender until very fine. Sprinkle liberally over steak or lamb chops.

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp (3 Teaspoons) coriander

1 tbsp (3 Teaspoons) celery salt

1 tsp allspice

0.50 tsp grounds cloves

1 tsp garlic powder

0.50 tsp chili powder (adjust to taste for spiciness)

0.50 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp dried origanum

1 tsp dried sage

1 tsp dried thyme
